Bindi’ holy dot’ is a bright red dot applied to the centre of the forehead close to the eyebrows. Bindi can also be in other colours. The word bindi is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘bindu’ which means a spot, a drop, a small particle, and a dot.

Traditionally, the bindi symbolizes that a woman is married. similar to a wedding ring in Western culture.

In India, one will find one bindi leaflet in every woman's makeup kit, whenever something traditional to wear most prefer to put on a bindi to complete the look.

As per yoga, the place where women put on their bindi is known as the sixth chakra most powerful chakra in the human body. Pressing the point multiple times a day while applying bindi has several health benefits to retain energy and strengthen concentration.
