The Winter of 2024-2025 Continues
Sunday sonnet
Some cold days, a warm one, then one more round
of snow to add some depth to what’s here now
in front of me, already on the ground.
With deeper snow, I’m happier somehow.
Beginning to believe more in this thing,
this quiet downtime, and there really must
be something to it, a repurposing.
Don’t need much space or wealth and truly just
some small safe place, some time to dig and roam.
This snow will melt, Sun shines so bright it sings.
The past is buried deep. New seeds are sown.
Now go, enjoy this peace that winter brings
out in the garden’s four encroaching walls.
I’ve more to say, yet first, a warm house calls.
Thank you, The Daily Cuppa, for publishing these Sunday sonnets.
