There is an Itch, and We Need to Scratch It or Probably Not.
When we feel an itch, the logical thing to do is scratch it.
If we feel the itch to write, we scratch it by writing.
If we feel the itch to read, we scratch it by reading.
We relieve the itch by scratching, which usually is the solution.
But sometimes, the solution is not to scratch. Sometimes scratching causes the problem (itch), thus creating a loop.
It can be likened to smoking. When you feel the urge (itch) to smoke, you light a cigarette (scratch) to relieve the withdrawal pangs.
As soon as nicotine leaves your body, you feel another urge (itch), then you light another cigarette (scratch), and the cycle continues.
The solution is not to scratch. It will become itchy, but it's the only way to stop the problem (itch).
