This is not an Omelet Pan
From Ashes to Eggs: A Hilarious Antique Mix-Up
I heard my husband in the kitchen rattling around, and from the sounds, he was getting ready to make breakfast. I wandered to the kitchen, following the aromatic smell of fresh coffee and hashbrowns.
He had made cute little herb & cheese omelets. I was impressed.
Then I saw the antique ashtray and crumb catcher from the early 1920s I had just unearthed from my deceased father-in-law's collection of stuff he had amassed as a lifelong hoarder.
“Honey, did you use that antique ashtray to make the omelets?” I asked.
I wish I could have captured the look of horror on his face when he realized it wasn’t a cool omelet pan but his dad’s antique ash catcher.
Happy Sunday!
