Almost one hundred years ago, the British writer Rudyard Kipling wrote a heartwarming collection of tales entitled Thy Servant a Dog.

No cat would ever consider him or herself a servant. The very idea! In fact, just the opposite is true.

A cat might certainly consider writing a book called Thy Master a Cat. However, cats feel no need to explain themselves to anyone, including the people they have chosen to live with. And writing a book would rob them of their precious nap time (often 15 hours or more a day).

Cats enjoy the company of people they like. They disdain the people they don’t like. In any case, cats expect to be served and loved by their people. Fortunately, for most people who love cats, such servitude is a privilege!
