Time to switch off your gadgets

Being bombarded with a continuous stream of phone notifications/emails can be so overwhelming. Information overload is not fun.

Today, take a little time off — 30 minutes to begin with — to turn off all your devices. Just put away all those gadgets and give yourself a respite from all the noise, the lights, the screens.

  • Sit quietly. Calmly.
  • Be aware of your thoughts.
  • Enjoy the peace and quiet.
  • Gradually, try and build this up to a morning off. Go for a long walk. Cook a new recipe. Catch up on your favorite hobby.

The calmness this brings will let you connect with that part of you that seems disconnected from the world around you.

Because life is a delicate balancing act.
