Today I will focus on the small.

At the start of every school year, there’s a lot of hustling and blundering as we try to find balance.

“Da, this sock’s too small!”

“Did I remember my book?”

“Ma, Where’s the hair putty?”

“Did you pack me a snack?”

And, this is just when the kids are back at school. Then about two weeks later, we all begin again when my love and I return to school.

“Love, have you seen my keys?”

“Da, I have a rip in my pants.”

“I’m on campus! I can’t find parking!”

“You forgot to pack my snack again!”

Yep. It is chaotic around here.

So, today, when nobody has to be anywhere, I will focus on the small things:
Late breakfast
The toy city we will build
Board game laughter
Book reading
Love

And I will be happy.
