Using Everyday Items

Another lesson from #junkjournaljuly

The prompt that stumped me this week was “fold-out”. I turned to Instagram but the posts looked a little too designer-ish.

With my current stash, I don’t have “designer-ish”. I don’t have a lot of fancy things. However, I remembered that a junk journal is for found materials and the stuff we encounter every day. So why not use things like the heavy-duty paper from a sticker pack folded in 3 as a writing spot? Why not use notecards joined together by washi tape and stickers as a little writing book?

While it may differ from most who use those brand items, it’s unique and quirky. Also, it reduces things being thrown out. It saves money for a future shopping trip and asks the question “is this worth spending on?”

Wow! Did you notice that? It was your day flying by. This publication is your place to enjoy stories of 150 words or fewer about plants and people, wild animals and pets, gardens and food, how-to and how-not-to — written to inform and delight. Did I mention humor?
