Oranges and apples simmer with cinnamon and clove to scent the air. When you come to sit, the sun will shine through old windows lightly dressed in lace.

The air you breathe will be as clear as a forest — a gift from my many plants.

Your eyes will have old things to look at and I will force you to admire the silly things I have made from fabric or wooden scraps.

I will make you tea from plants I have grown.

Unless you are Nancy Oglesby!

I made her stay outside because she is allergic to lavender which I grow and create things from. I gave her cheap bottled water.

In a plastic bottle!

But we had a lovely visit.

I wish you all warm fuzzy feelings throughout these winter months even though I can't have you to tea.
