We’ll Be There by Sunset
You jinxed us
Trouble started with loading the Miami to St. Kitts plane.
People were traveling together but seated separately. When it appeared no more people were coming, they got up to talk to their friends.
Of course, it only appeared that way. When the bottleneck cleared, passengers came flooding down the aisle.
“All passengers need to take their seats. Yes, Ma’am, that means you,” the flight attendant announced.
Finally, everyone was seated. The door sealed. The plane didn’t move.
Another flight attendant said there was a maintenance issue. The captain was waiting for maintenance sign-off on the repair.
“Don’t worry, we’ll have you in St. Kitts by sunset,” he promised.
The passengers laughed. Our scheduled arrival time was 1:30pm.
We weren’t laughing when we finally left, 3 hours later. Arriving barely ahead of the 5:30 sunset.
Jinxed.
