What are you doing to stay cool this June?

This month is one of the hottest on record where I live.

Yikes!

How do I beat the heat without spending every hour inside?

1. I attempt to get outside before the sun is high. Today the kids and I walked to a neighborhood park and played whiffle ball. When we got home, I was ready for a shower and a nap.
2. I have a full rack of hats to keep the sun off my face. My family has nicknames for many of them, my favorite being, “the swamp bonnet.” They may not be fashion-forward, but they get the job done.
3. And, finally, I drink GALLONS of iced tea: green, black, white, herbal sweetened, unsweetened; you name it, I drink it.
