When I was a kid, my mum always had cake and biscuit tins full of homemade treats…

She was a whizz at baking sweet delights, many of which I occasionally make for my own family.

She rarely bought manufactured food, although I am partial to ginger kisses and toffee pop biscuits which Granny B brought each week when she visited.
