Why do I sometimes self-publish?
I’ve been submitting my works to publications since I started writing on Medium, but occasionally I prefer to self-publish.
The main reason is that each publication has its niche.
For example, Globetrotters is about travel, while Thank You Notes creates a place for expressing gratitude.
And I write whatever comes to my mind. The editors would be embarrassed if I submitted a story that had nothing to do with their niche.
I can submit to bigger publications, that cover all kinds of subjects.
But the editors there have to read tons of drafts every day, so they’re not able to give each of our stories a heartwarming comment like editors (although they are busy too) on smaller platforms does.
We may also have to wait longer for our stories to be published.
How about you?
