Why Is a Lampshade Around My Head?

Miss Mali came home from the Vet yesterday wearing the “Cone of Shame.” Our poor little girl is unhappy about it — who can blame her?

Corgis have short legs, and even walking is difficult for her with a giant lampshade around her head. It catches on everything.

I swear that I see embarrassment in her expression.

She got a cut on her ear. I applied pressure, cleaned it up, and put a large human bandage on it. All seemed fine overnight.

But she wouldn’t let me touch her ear to remove the bandage to check on it and clean it.

Off to the Vet we go. It was only a 3/4 inch cut, but all the way through the ear. She has a staple now.

It happened at night, I think it was an owl's sharp talons.
