Why Playing the Victim’s Card Is a Loser’s Game
“You can’t play the role of a victim all your life without becoming one in the end.” — Danilo Kis
There’s a trump card that life deals us, the victim’s card. This is a dummy card. It’s only effective when it’s not used.
Many use it and lose the game.
Playing the victim’s card yields short-term gains. People see through the game, isolate the ‘victims,’ leaving them to wallow in self-pity.
The victim’s mindset makes people lazy. They refuse to take responsibility for their lives. Sometimes, they use the victim’s card as a manipulative tool to gain sympathy.
Resilient and anti-fragile people do not use the victim’s trump card. They win by playing with the cards they are dealt.
Victimhood is a trap; it only opens the doors of misery.
