“Fearless” Leaders — The Daily PPILL#25
Heard it many times. The usual vision of a fearless leader is the brave warrior in front of a charging army, heading straight into the face of danger. Not to say it is not a great quality of a leader, but I prefer to look at it from a different angle.
A fearless leader shouldn’t just be brave on the battlefield when facing their adversary. The best leaders I have followed, have also made themselves vulnerable and accepted criticism from their followers. This is probably the bravery that is hardest to beget.
UPDATED: Under the current circumstances, I cannot ignore the stark contrast between two men. One orders to arrest anybody who distributes an edited portrait of his, wearing lipstick. The other, a comedian, who is accustomed to be laughed at. Vulnerability is the biggest strenght.
