Validation vs. Desire — The Daily PPILL #201

Validation is a great motivator. I know. It is for me.

The applause at the end of the performance, the pat in the back. Feeling part of the group, being looked at with admiration, makes me feel proud.

But validation by itself cannot be the driver of our lives. It is frail, competing for everybody’s attention, and many times it fails to recognize things that are unusual or just different.

Doing something because we want to, because we have a desire to see them come to existence, is much more resilient in the face of naysayers. For the visionary entrepreneur, this is especially true. Most of us fail to recognize their vision until it becomes obvious, and only THEN do we provide validation.

Be your biggest fan, you won’t be disappointed.
