People frustrate their progress for a variety of reasons. They may knowingly or unknowingly commit acts of self-sabotage. The causes range from childhood problems to the effects of previous relationships. Other reasons for this type of destructive behavior vary from low self-esteem, which is one of the most popular, but because it lowers our self-esteem, because of something that we also learned at home or associated with since we were little; or without realizing it.

People who sabotage themselves may be aware of their actions. For example, someone who is overweight and on a diet might knowingly sabotage her good efforts by eating an entire box of ice cream. This is one of the best-known cases, and with which I myself struggle daily, I have committed this before, which always costs me a lot, trying to maintain my healthy diet, despite the fact that I practice sports, and I already know the day; or what excess sugar does to my body.

Or they may act unconsciously. A person misses a work deadline. On the surface, it looks like he was running late. But the truth is that he is afraid of failure. He sabotages himself by missing the due date, thereby defeating his goal.

Holding yourself to an impossible standard will cause delays and setbacks. While it seems like a positive strategy to aim for things to go as planned without a hitch, perfectionism gets in the way of success. When something goes wrong, as it inevitably can, perfectionists fall apart. They end up feeling ashamed and are prone to depression, they feel incapable.

We must stop the cycle of sabotaging ourselves, there are things that are not the time, or ours in our hands, or we simply have to lose the fear of failure, nothing happens, if we fail, there is life to continue trying. He who does not persevere does not succeed, and do not give up in the face of defeat. He collects the experience and keeps trying.
