Since I’ve already written about the Corpse Bride, Emily, here’s how to dress as Victor Van Dort this Halloween. Corpse Bride is set in the Victorian Era, and so this costume requires a suit, but even so, you may find it easy to recreate, or you may end up shopping for pieces to mix and match with your current suits.

Victor Van Dort / Corpse Bride

In the movie, Victor Van Dort wears a white dress shirt and a blue ascot under a grey vest, and a dark grey tailcoat. He pairs this with black-striped, grey pants and black dress shoes.

For your costume, you may already have items like the dress shirt, grey vest, and dress shoes in your closet. As for the pants, you may be able to find them in stores, however since black pinstripes on grey pants may not be so common, you could opt for black (or nearly black) pants with white pinstripes for a similar effect. Lastly, the dark-colored tailcoat or blazer should be easy to find in stores.

As for the ascot, if you cannot find one in stores, try checking on amazon for blue ascots, preferably a dull blue since Victor’s color palette in the movie is quite dull.

Finally, make sure to do your hair up to match the volume that Victor has. If you want to look more like him, try using powder to have a paler complexion and black eyeshadow for the shadows around his eyes as well as his greyish lips.

This costume should be fun to pair with Emily’s to win any costume contest this year. I hope you enjoyed reading!
