A brief introduction

The purpose of this blog is to explore the military history of the nation of Denmark, particularly during the “black powder” era and through to the second world war. The focus will be on investigating Danish publications and (where possible) period secondary and primary sources and then presenting information in a manner that is useful to an English speaking audience.

While I will be selecting material that is of relevance to tabletop war gamers, the aim is to also act as a generally useful resource for people with an interest in military history. In particularly I am interested in the small and personal level of things, examining how soldiers moved, ate, clothed and fought alongside the big movements and the big decisions.

Of course, you might also learn a few Danish words here and there.

I don’t know how frequent updates will be as this is a new project for me, so I hope you will take this ride and we’ll see where it goes.
