4 Must Have Summer Shoes

Summer has come around and your wardrobe is out of date. To stay looking sharp update your style with these versatile shoes.

1. The Boat Shoe

Boat shoes are a must have in your summer shoe collection. This shoe is great for anything from going to the beach to a semi-professional event. They will help keep your outfit looking sharp, as well as add comfort.

Although these shoes may give a preppy vibe, they are a staple to summer outfits.

Make sure to wear no show socks when wearing these shoes. I don’t recommend wearing boat shoes sockless, because they can cause a mess down there. Instead opt for a better alternative that will extend the life of your shoes and keep you comfortable.

To add a bit of flair to your outfit, consider adding an ankle bracelet. Ankle bracelets are more common amongst women, but this is the year 2017, about time an ankle bracelet does not define a person.

There are many alternatives for ankle bracelets, there are bulky designs that add a manly look. On the other hand slim designs, give off a fresh look and aren’t too distracting.

2. Canvas Sneaker

Canvas sneakers tend to be low cost and last a long time, for this reason they are a must for a summer wardrobe. This type of shoe not only lasts a long time, but it also is universal.

Sneakers are the type of shoes that gets even better with wear. There is a certain sweet spot between the lifespan of a sneaker that people love. Its a roughed up look which gives off an edgy look. Ready to take on whatever comes your way.

There are many different versions of canvas sneakers and each can add a slightly different look to your outfit.

Vans are a skateboard style meaning that they were originally made for use by skateboarders. These shoes are made to be durable and low cost, they are type that you replace every year.

These shoes look good in any color, but I would opt for a black or white, this way they will look good with any outfit. Now, if you want to break the norm I’d recommend getting a print or exotic color.

Chuck Taylor All-Stars are the most versatile shoes on the market. More likely than not you have seen multiple people wearing these shoes. Originally made for basketball, now anyone ranging from celebrities to your neighbor are bound to wear them.

These shoes are the go-top's when you want a comfortable shoe, but don’t know what shoe to wear with your outfit.

I’d recommend getting high tops so that you can wear some comfortable socks underneath without sacrificing the look of the shoes.

TOMS shoes are a great alternative to Chuck’s and Van’s. These shoes are inspired by a disposable shoe worn in the poor areas of Argentina.

When you buy one shoe from TOMS they will give a pair of shoes to someone in need around the world. The founder of the company felt a need to help after seeing the hardships faced by children growing up barefoot.

This shoe will add a down to earth look to your outfit, as well as help someone in need. I’d recommend wearing TOMS with no show socks to add to the down to earth look.

3. Oxford

There are multiple variations of the Oxford shoes. These shoes are important to any man’s wardrobe because they add a touch of formality to any outfit. I would recommend getting a good quality shoe, but since these may be quite expensive I will also include a low cost alternative.

Cap toe oxfords are important for formal wear. These oxfords will look well with any type of formal wear, but I would combine them with almost any outfit to give have a completely different look.

There are some men that still like to follow old dress rules, but it’s not necessary to follow the rules as long as you look good in what you are wearing.

I would wear these shoes with khakis and chinos, but I would be careful about wearing them with jeans. Combining a super relaxed outfit with formal shoes may look odd.

Brogue oxfords are great for almost any occasion. These shoes can be worn with almost any type of outfit.

They look good with anything ranging from slacks to jeans. If you are looking for a comfortable, but polished look the brogue oxfords are a great option for you.

Brogues add a level of sophistication to your outfit that will definitely be noticed.

4. Running Sneaker

Any wardrobe needs a casual sneaker to a pinch of casual to any outfit.

Make sure to buy sneakers that will add to your wardrobe, rather than take away from it. You want to make sure that the sneakers you buy will fit will almost anything in your wardrobe.

Adidas are some great shoes that will last a long time, as well as keep you looking sharp.

NIKE. The shoe considered by many to be the original sneaker, is also a great alternative to the Adidas sneaker.

I chose simplistic styles for the running sneaker because they are meant to take a beating and remain intact. More intricate design require more care, but with a simple design it is pretty simple to clean these.

Those are four shoes I think you should have in your summer wardrobe. This list intentionally mixes professional and casual styles. I wanted to give you a broad overview of summer fashion while focusing only on shoes.
