Tour of data preparation techniques for Machine Learning. In this tutorial by Jason Brownlee, PhD, you will discover the common data preparation tasks performed in a predictive modeling machine learning task. The tutorial is divided into six parts, which are: common data preparation tasks, data cleaning, feature selection, data transforms, feature engineering, and dimensionality reduction.

Onna, the ‘knowledge integration platform’ for workplace apps, raises $27M Series B. Leading the round is Atomico, with participation from Glynn Capital. Previous investors Dawn Capital, Nauta Capital and Slack Fund also followed on. “Onna’s knowledge integration platform is a centralised, searchable and secure hub that connects company data wherever it resides and makes it easier and faster to make informed decisions,” said Onna founder and CEO Salim Elkhou.

Led by Nick Bonfiglio, CEO and Founder, and Neelesh Shastry, CTO and Cofounder, Syncari allows organizations to fix their enterprise data. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its customer acquisition plans.

Microsoft buys data modeling vendor ADRM Software and plans to combine its Azure compute and storage technology with its large-scale vertical data models. “An industry data model enables organizations to more holistically capture and define business concepts, refine and integrate processes, and build interoperability in their ecosystem,” said Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Azure Global Industry Ravi Krishnaswamy.

Altair Monarch marks 30th anniversary with major new release. “With a global user community in the tens of thousands, Monarch encompasses our long experience of helping customers overcome complex data preparation challenges,” said Sam Mahalingam, chief technical officer, Altair.

Snowflake launches first partner program, creates resell and MSP opportunities. “The next step in our journey is really driving for scale,” said Colleen Kapase, Snowflake vice president of worldwide partner and alliances, in an interview with CRN.
