Suzanne Taylor, CTO of Emerging Technology at Unisys, comments that data-driven companies need holistic data management. In her experience, “data preparation can take anywhere from 40% to 80% of the project time”, as she mentions in this article for Forbes.

Michael Distler, a Senior Director of Product Marketing at Qlik, shares his views on data governance. “Having a full picture of the value of Data Governance ultimately helps fuel the company with the key insights for growth” he comments, in this article for Dataversity.

Shadi Shahin, VP of product strategy at SAS, suggests that you change the way you work with data and analytics, so that you can work like a disrupter. “We’re seeing three clear shifts in the industry that are making it easier for even the most traditional companies to work like disrupters and change the way they deploy analytics. They are: Intelligent data preparation, Containers for analytics, ModelOps for machine learning.”, he comments, in this article for ITBrief.

Melissa Jantjies, Associate Systems Engineer at SAS South Africa, discusses making sense out of big data through visualisation. “Data preparation is a must, or there is a risk that the visualisation will be faulty” she comments, in this article for Bizcommunity.

Steve Wilkes, founder and CTO of Striim, takes a look at streaming data integration — what it is, what it is used for, and most importantly, what is needed to set it up and manage it — in this “Whiteboard Wednesday” 10-minute video.

Bloomberg announced that it has released major upgrades to Enterprise Access Point, the company’s ready-to-use data website, with a new self-service marketplace.

BigID and Alation announce an expanded partnership to integrate BigID’s privacy-oriented data discovery with the Alation Data Catalog.
