Why Humans Still Need to be Involved in Language-Based AI. In this special guest feature, Vincent Terrasi, Product Director at OnCrawl, discusses what happens when data science and machine learning meets SEO.

An Exclusive Interview with Jan Belke, Founder of Data-Driven Science. Jan Belke, Founder of Data-Driven Science, an online training company that focuses on Data Science and AI education, spoke in an exclusive interview with Analytics Insight on how the company assists people in building a successful career in Data Science and what pedagogy and training it offers.

Synthesized debuts a free tool for identifying and removing biased data. “The reputational risk of all organizations is under threat due to biased data and we’ve seen this will no longer be tolerated at any level,” said Synthesized founder and Chief Executive Dr. Nicolai Baldin. “Synthesized’s Community Edition for Bias Mitigation is one of the first offerings specifically created to understand, investigate and root out bias in data.”

Narrative Science Launches Augmented Data Discovery, Dynamic Newsfeed, and Expanded Data Ingestion Capabilities in Data Storytelling Product Lexio. “Lexio is specifically built for employees that are either not using or not satisfied with their BI dashboards today, by making it easy to understand and use data in a way that has never been done before,” said Narrative Science CEO and co-founder Stuart Frankel.

Amazon makes data handling easier with AWS Glue DataBrew tool. “Data is the fuel for AI-based apps, but there aren’t enough people capable of prepping and providing the data for all the AI that has to be built,” Constellation Research Inc. analyst Holger Mueller said. “Data is critical to optimizing our manufacturing processes [but] the data ingested into our data lake often contains duplicate values, incorrect formatting and other imperfections that make it difficult to use in its raw form,” said Invista’s analytics and cloud leader Tanner Gonzalez.

Databricks’ data lake solution paves the way for BI and AI. Databricks CEO and co-founder Ali Ghodsi says, “It is no longer a matter of if organisations will move their data to the cloud, but when. A lakehouse architecture built on a data lake is the ideal data architecture for data-driven organisations and this launch gives our customers a far superior option when it comes to their data strategy.“

Google Cloud launches Data Migration Service to land database workloads. The Database Migration Service is a serverless tool to migrate MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases to Cloud SQL with a few clicks. Andi Gutmans, vice president of databases at Google Cloud, said DMS is designed for three popular use cases. The DMS is available at no charge for lift and shift migrations to Cloud SQL although there may be networking charges.

Data Transformer Fishtown Raises Funds. “Organizations large and small continue to face tremendous challenges organizing data and making it available to decision-makers,” said Fishtown Analytics CEO, Tristan Handy. “We’re going to continue building higher-leverage analytics engineering tooling, better career paths and a community of practice with deep social capital.”
