Google Allo is a smart instant messaging mobile app developed by Google for the Android and iOS smartphones. Google Allo helps you say more and do more. You can express yourself through messaging better with the Google Assistant, stickers, “Smart Reply and Sharing”, HUGE emojis & text, GIFs, encrypted text, and much more! Allo brings the Google Assistant. I’ll decipher some of my favorite features and explain why it’s my favorite messaging platform.

Stickers allow you to express yourself in ways you normally can’t through text message. Most if not all portray a specific action or emotion. Either you are bored, hysterically laughing at a joke, or charged up with coffee ready to start your day. You can express that with the animated stickers as you can see below. They even have themed stickers as you can see with the Star Wars stormtrooper.

“Smart Reply and Share” is a really convenient feature that takes the predictive text to a whole new level. This feature is intelligent enough to suggest words, phrases, GIFs or animated stickers for you in response to someone within a chat. For example, if your friend sends you a picture of a cat, the smart reply will suggest phrase like “Cute cat!” in response. See below for a pretty cool example.

Google Assistant is my absolute favorite features and is why I chose Google Allo as my favorite messaging app. With the Google Assistant, I can search normally like I do at Google.com, but in mid-text. For example, let's say my friends and I are planning a road trip to Atlanta and we’d all like to know what the weather will be like there. Instead of leaving the app to search online in a different app, “What’s the weather in Atlanta?”, then return back to the conversation with the results. We can do it right in the chat. It’s quick, convenient, and efficient.

With those three features and MANY more, Google Allo has become my favorite app to use for messaging. Plus anyone can use it. No matter if you have an iOS or Android smartphone. Check it out and download it for Android and iOS.

“The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn't said.”
