It’s August, and the sweet corn is ripening, the tomatoes are falling off the vine, and neighbors are suddenly generous with overflowing baskets of zucchini.

Continuing with this garden theme, think about what you have sown and reaped so far this year.

With its lingering warmth and promise of cooler days just around the corner, August reminds us that another season is on the horizon and invites us to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and what we can still achieve.

Are you ready to declutter anything that is not producing fruit in your life?

Embrace the energy of this growing season and let go of what weighs you down. All gardeners know that the key to abundant fruit lies in the pruning. Flowers need to be deadheaded, fruit trees need careful pruning, and pinching off unproductive shoots yields more harvest.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. (John 15:1-2, ESV).

Our lives need to be carefully…
