Hey there! David again. It’s been quite a while since the last time I posted. Today, I’m here to show off a small peek at the latest tester build of Delta.

I am happy to announce that I was able to port 24 Delta characters to Beta 1.1! This means that the balancing that we’d done up to this point is still entirely intact for a majority of the cast, which saves a lot of time that would’ve been spent on editing all of the newer files to match ours.

Characters ported from 1.0.3.2 Delta: Chibi-Robo, Sonic, Mario, Tails, Luigi, Mr. Game and Watch, Fox, Falco, Bomberman, Peach, Pit, Bowser, Goku, Black Mage, Samus, Kirby, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Wario, Link, Marth, Isaac, Mega Man, and Ness

Characters edited from 1.1.0.1 Beta: Captain Falcon, Sheik, Zelda, Zero Suit Samus, Meta Knight, Naruto, Pichu, and Luffy

Characters left intact from 1.1.0.1 Beta: Donkey Kong, Lloyd, Sandbag, Bandana Dee, PAC-MAN, and Yoshi

So, without further ado, allow me to highlight some of the changes in this patch.

Pikachu

Up, up, and away he goes!

This was requested by many of you! Pikachu’s thunder no longer spikes and now sends upwards like it did previously. This should make him much less obnoxious offstage but still threatening onstage nonetheless. It even has a bit of lag, so use it sparingly or else you may find yourself at a disadvantage.

Also, for Pikachu’s Thunder Jolt, it now freezes the opponent for juuuuust long enough so that he can follow up, if he’s fast.

Careful! You don’t wanna get caught in a situation like this!

Peach

For Peach, not too much has changed this time around, as she was already pretty well rounded in the previous patch. However, there is one thing that did change.

“Uh-huh!~”

Yep! Peach has a brand new taunt. The animation itself is taken from some unused game data, but you didn’t hear that from me.

In terms of balancing, a lot of the changes that Peach got were some minor tweaks. The one significant change is that her down air is no longer an infinite of sorts.

Sonic

Sonic has gotten two significant changes that should better round out his kit. We decided to give him a bit more leeway with his Insta-Shield’s frame data, allowing him to approach with it without getting stuck on the ground as often. As a trade off, we also reduced the range of his Homing Attack by a considerable amount. This doesn’t mean that he’s easy to beat! Far from it, actually.

Sonic is definitely a character you won’t want to be trading with. Take it from Wario!

Sky Sanctuary Zone

And last but not least…

It works!!

Goku and Sky Sanctuary are now both fully functional!! In the previous build, there were a few bugs that made it so you couldn’t use the guy on this stage. Heck, he couldn’t even interact with Tailsbot without freezing up the game. I’m happy to say that both of those issues are resolved and you can now Super Dash all over Sky Sanctuary to your leisure. Hope you enjoy!

And that’s all for this short preview! There’s much more to see in the build, so try it out and see what you can do!

Thank you once again for playing, and I hope to talk with you soon.

P.S: Due to the nature of file-porting and other current technical limitations, this build has been split up into more than one release. Release 4a is what this article covers, and there are a number of bugs and/or other issues that may have gotten overlooked. Release 4a also has a number of characters left entirely in their 1.1.0.1 iterations due to future plans, so for this demo, every character is available, whether they’re actually different or not. Release 4b will see the return of a lot of changes, along with several fixes and returning stages. A number of them were cut out of this build so that they could be fixed up before sending them out in a playable build. Thank you for being patient, as the issues of 4a WILL be resolved in the next update!
