The Democratic Socialist is an international publication about democratic socialism, social democracy, and related subjects. It’s a space for ideas and visions, as well as discussions about political and organizational strategies and tactics.

About the editor

My name is Fredrik Jansson. I’m a middle-aged Swedish dad of three that work as a press secretary.

I’ve an extensive background in the Swedish labor movement. I’ve worked for the Social Democrats at both local and national level. I’ve worked for labor unions at both national and regional (I still do) level. I’ve worked with labor movement popular education. I’ve been a political/op-ed editor and leader writer at newspapers. I’ve written a book on the essence of social democracy.

The Democratic Socialist is an experiment. A way to enhance my written English at the same time as I take notes for a book project (about democratic socialism). But it’s also about reaching out to an international community of democratic socialists and social democrats, to contribute to a discussion and get new ideas.
