The idea of creating The Desk of Halberstram comes after giving a deep thought on how can I deal with daily life thoughts, events, encounters, as well as ways to remember moments of happiness and learning. The decision of doing this writing from an anonymous stand surges from the need of being able to write freely, without remorse or fear of retaliation, even though this publication will not target people or try to diminish others’ views, you never know who can be reading.
This publication will also help as an exercise of writing, editing and general reading comprehension. As a reader you may have noticed already, English is not my native language, I’ll try my best to write coherently, grammatically correct and without any spelling mistakes. If I miss a word and do not catch it at the moment of writing, I am humbly sorry for it.
Who is Mr. Halberstram?
As any first encounter, let me introduce myself. By obvious reasons my name is not Marcus neither Halberstram my surname, but let’s pretend they are. I am currently a senior student, pursuing dual degrees in engineering and economics from the two best universities of my country. I’m interning at a top BB investment bank, I have a deep interest in economics and finance and I will very likely work at investment banking, private equity or management consulting as well as pursue a MBA at a M7 business school.
I’m an INTJ and a Scorpio. In my library you can find Alan Greenspan’s The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World, The Boston Consulting Group’s On Strategy, Brett Easton Ellis’ American Psycho among several other authors. I am naturally dumb with girls, but I’m lucky enough to have found the one just right for me, during my writings I will refer her as Mary. I have a deep love for pizza and bacon, and also for coke. At parties or clubs, you can find me enjoying rum with coke, but ultimately I’ll find myself feeling uncomfortable with a lot people around, so I prefer staying at home or eating out at a restaurant.
I am a big Star Wars fan, and enjoy LOTR, 007 and Quentin Tarantino’s movies. Regarding TV shows, I simply love Game of Thrones, Billions, Narcos, Lost and House MD. I must admit I certainly admire Tywin Lannister (if you check the INTJ’s description, it is believed that Tywin was an INTJ, so there’s that).
I like to think of myself as a simple human. I hope this publication helps to my personal growth and to share some of the insights I gain in this life journey we are all in.
