Lydia, Video Specialist, was with us for a year and a half and graduated in December 2015.

Lydia saw the Corps as an opportunity that gave her confidence for going out into the real world.

Lydia said she learned a lot of what she knows with the Corps, specifically color grading.

“I had the pleasure and privilege of having the lovely Dan Edwards as my master in the Video Team for the first year of my time here and he taught us all how to color like champs.”

Thinking of her time here, Lydia remembers the Online Orientation project, a way for Ball State students who are non-traditional or studying online to gain information, making her stronger as a person. It was a large-scale project that took a long time from beginning to end.

“Sometimes you don’t make it all the way through a project…I got to be on the whole thing and even with all the struggles we went through with it, it got done and I got to see it get done and that was a really satisfying day.”

Lydia feels like the Corps has given her a skill set that will be applicable to a variety of workplaces.

“I know what I am qualified to do and what I can do but I think it’s just a matter of finding a place that will help my creativity and passion for all of this flow.”

After graduation, Lydia moved to LA to pursue her love of filmmaking. She’s currently a part time production assistant and full time bakery clerk.

Lydia thinks that it’s important to not take life too seriously, and hopes to remembered as someone you could count on for comic relief.

“I would hope that I impacted the Corps by bringing a little bit of fun into all the hard work that we do. You have to enjoy life.”
