Senior Exit Interview: Michael Schutter
Development Specialist, Michael Schutter, has been with the Digital Corps since his junior year. Starting with training, then applying what he learned to projects, he was able to retain a lot of the things he learned through the whole process of the Corps. From the back-end all the way to server administration, most of what he knows about web and mobile development he learned with the Corps.
Michael believes that it is important to work on outside projects to practice your skills.
“Use as much of the resources that the Corps gives you to create your side projects. Start freelancing, start practicing, just start creating your own website right out the gate.”
After graduation, Michael will be working at NextGear Capital as a full-stack developer for their internal systems. He will work on the applications that they run for their clients or sellers who go out and sell their product.

“They need something internally to work with and to log everything back to home base. That way they’re always connected.”
As a full-stack developer, Michael is excited for the diversity the job will offer and an opportunity to use all the skills he’s learned.
