Video Team Apprentice, Nicole Conflenti, has been with the Corps for two semesters, which were split by a study abroad trip to Scotland.

“It really gave me a broader perspective of the world and what skills I learned at the Corps that would help me contribute to working beyond the United States,” said Nicole.

With the Corps, Nicole gained knowledge about video production like color grading and editing. She also learned professional soft skills like résumé building and interviewing.

She hopes to take the Corps’ spirit of collaboration and standard of high quality work into her future career.

“The quality of work that we expect at the Corps has really raised expectations for me and my expectations for others on what a good product can be and what collaboration between teams can look like.”

She currently has a YouTube channel called The Catalyst Sessions (http://www.catalystsessionsmedia.com/) where she records and edits acoustic sessions with musicians in beautiful, unconventional locations. She works with musicians around the Indy area and for a brief time during her semester abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Nicole plans to pursue music videography after graduation — anything that combines music and video. Her dream job would be working with the Mahogany Sessions, a YouTube channel that also does acoustic sessions and inspired her to start her own channel.

Looking back, she would tell herself not to be scared of her potential.

“Trust your creativity and passion for what you do because in the end that’s what propels you to keep moving forward with your work.”
