Four dimensions of digital heritage educational resources. An introduction.

Apart from the workflow where all the stakeholders are involved, what is essential in the development process is to define the structure, the elements, and the content of the digital heritage educational resources.

For this task, it is necessary to take the four dimensions of the resource.

  • The communicative dimension

The communicative dimension of the digital heritage educational resources is related to the ways the content is presented and how the digital elements generate interaction and engagement with the audience.

The elements defined in this dimension are digital storytelling, hypermedia elements, ubiquity, immersivity, and gamification.

  • The pedagogical dimension

The pedagogical dimension of the digital heritage educational resources is related to its pedagogical adaptability and the aims and results of learning.

The elements defined in this dimension are pedagogical adaptability, learning models, and Generic Learning Outcomes.

  • The social dimension

The social dimension of the digital heritage educational resources is related to the social and civic values worked with the content and how it helps to improve the values as citizens to its users.

The elements defined in this dimension are inclusion and diversity, sustainability, and human rights.

  • The psychological dimension

The psychological dimension of the digital heritage educational resources is related to the way the user establishes an emotional connection with the content.

The elements defined in this dimension are emotional design and embodiment.
