For the past few years, mirrorless cameras have taken the industry by storm. While it’s not a new technology; point-and-shoot cameras have always worked that way, it has raised its game to professional standards. There are good reasons for going mirrorless, including size, weight, and form factor. But it may not quite be time to make the change. Here are four reasons your next camera should not be mirrorless, but a traditional DSLR.

They Look More Professional

While some people may not care about this and prefer the more discrete look of mirrorless, DSLRs have a certain gravitas. Just by raising one of these beasts to your eye, they let the world know you are serious about your photography, and they should take you seriously as well. And though no piece of equipment makes you a better photographer, being identified as one will inspire confidence and trust.

They Feel More Professional

More importantly, they have a certain heft and balance that feels more substantial. Although this heft can weigh on a photographer after carrying it around all day, there is something to be said for using such a solid, if not bulky piece of equipment.
