2017 goals: Add the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak to your collection
The manufacture crafts timepieces and jewelry that can only by described as luxurious, sophisticated works of art.
With a rich history of watchmaking, beginning circa 1875 from the Vallee de Joux, Audemars Piguet still operates from their original workshops in Le Brassus, Switzerland. The AP brand remains a symbol of status for refined men and women around the world that are passionate about true authenticity and superior craftsmanship.
For 2017, AP introduces updates to the iconic Royal Oak collection of watches. The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar has an attractive 9.5mm x 41mm black ceramic case, a 29mm diameter sapphire crystal, and durable titanium folding clasp. The Grande Tapisserie patterned, slate grey dial and black inner bezel are the perfect canvas to illuminate its 38 jewels.
A perfect balance between haute couture and utility, this watch is also a very capable timepiece. It is extremely precise and durable. The suspended barrel type construction has an oscillating weight guided by ruby runners, significantly reducing wear so it can be worn it for a lifetime. The watch has an extremely thin movement at a frequency of 19,800 vibrations per hour, and the Perpetual Calendar precisely displays week, day, date, month, hours and minutes, and moon phase, requiring a correction only every 125 years and 317 days.
AP celebrates the Royal Oak’s 40th year with a new hammered frosted gold edition. The bezel, case and bracelet are encased in hammered gold, with 40 jewels and a Grande Tapisserie dial.
The Florentine metalwork technique is produced by hammering tiny indentations in the gold, yielding a rich surface texture and a dazzling sparkle effect.
If you’re in the market for a rare collector’s watch, the Audemars Piguet 40th anniversary Royal Oak is the perfect choice. The frosted gold edition may be a the most unforgettable Valentine’s Day gift for your wife, girlfriend, or dare we say (mistress).¢
