Welcome to Discord, a lovely place for gamers. Your friends probably have invited you here after they were sick of Skype and their intrusive adverts, or TeamSpeak was too costly for them.

You are now moving to Discord, and you are absolutely confused! Fortunately, this guide will show you through the registration & verification process of Discord. It’s easy, and takes only 5 minutes or even shorter.

Upon visting the discord.com website, you’ll be greeted with the following webpage. There are many things you can do there, but for now, we’re going to click the Open Discord in your browser button.

You’ll be prompted with a username field. Type in any username you want, it doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s not offensive or racist.

Once you’ve done all that, you’ll be redirected to your user dashboard. Think of it as your airplane cockpit: the basic essentials are there. Viewing friends who are online or offline, a nice server list on the left hand side of your screen, etc.

You will need to verify your email in order to keep your account and make sure it doesn’t get lost. Enter an email address that’s not already associated with another Discord account and is valid.

Once you’ve checked your email for the confirmation link, click it and you’re all good to go. You can now access most of the Discord features!
