How I Took Advantage of a 3D Printer for Garden Projects
About 3D printing and everyday creativity — combining two hobbies
3D Printing and Everyday Creativity
Today, 3D printers are becoming a staple in the studios of desktop fabricators and hobbyists who love to create. If you can imagine it — and find or design a model — you can print it.
From office organizers and household items to toys, tools, and plant pots, making these yourself is no longer a futuristic dream.
First, the indoor garden
Last year, I converted my spare room into an indoor planting space, and it’s ideal for propagating and starting new plants from seed to transplant outside next spring. The bonus is that it keeps me sane over the winter.
I started with an indoor collection of potted plants — four geraniums, two begonias, and one Gerbera daisy, plus a slew of cuttings.
Today, I’m nearly crowded out by 16 geraniums, five wax begonias, three Gerbera daisies, and eight new geranium cuttings — all at different stages of growth, and plants I’ve started from seeds during the past six months.
