I Hate AI!
And I avoid using it as much as possible.
For me personally, artificial intelligence or AI is a thief that stole, perhaps not my writing, but the work of millions of writers online to birth it into being.
If you haven’t subscribed to Medium, you can read all of my stories, including this one, “paywall-free” on Ko-fi.
It also stole a well-paying job I had as a content creator for a local business here on Oahu. So I avoid using it whenever it’s offered.
The only time I will concede to using it is when I’m searching for a definition or factual information online that’s not product-based, which is often the case when searching on Google these days.
The search engine offers AI-based, factual information at the top of the search results that usually meets my needs.
I’ve even disconnected Microsoft Word’s Copilot when I’m drafting a piece because it gets in the way of my creative process. I don’t need no machine telling me how to write, dammit!
And in case you’re wondering, AI, that double negative isn’t bad grammar but a feature of African-American Vernacular English or AAVE that is as rule-governed as so-called Standard English. I ought to know with a Masters degree in Sociolinguistics from Georgetown University.
