Julia Child’s Beef Bourguignon
Well, its almost Julia Child's recipe, close but no Chianti
My son sent me a text asking if Pinot Noir was the correct wine to make Beef Bourguignon. I said, “Yes, but Julia Child would say it should be from Burgundy, but I use California Pinot since it’s cheaper.”
He followed up with the below picture of his Beef Bourguignon.
Looks delicious, doesn't it? He is a very good cook.
But he is in Japan, and I’m in California, so I didn’t get to share in his creation. I felt like it was food abuse, sending Dad a picture when he knows darn well; it’s one of my favorite foods.
Rub salt into the wound; I think they have a name for this . . . “Parent Abuse.”
Well, fine, I have a stove; I’ll make my own.
After searching for my copy of Julia Child’s cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, I couldn’t find it.
So I did a google search and found tons of supposedly Julia Child's recipes, most of them horribly wrong.
