Make a Collage Roll

I keep all my scrap pieces of paper and fabric to paste on a roll of paper that continues for yards and yards.

Scrappy Trash to Crafter’s Heaven

I take printer paper and piece them together with tape. Then I roll it up like wrapping paper and set it aside. Whenever I have leftover pieces of paper or fabric, I open the roll and paste down the scrappy pieces.

In no time, I have yards and yards on my scrappy collage roll. I throw very little in the trash, and I have collage paper ready to go for any project. It’s a satisfying way to repurpose even the smallest bits of leftovers.

Collage Roll Projects

Right now, I’m cutting pieces off an antique-themed collage roll — see image above — and I’m making oversized journal cards for a new junk journal that I’m working on. Most of the paper pieces on this roll are from old maps, vintage-themed adverts, pages from a coffee-stained address book, and even strips of linen.

I’m also making a birthday card for our dog groomer soon, which means I can cut a section off another roll as the card’s front cover. This roll is a bit more colorful, and anything is welcome on it. I have graph paper, wrapping paper, strips from collages, gift bags…
