The Stash-Busting Crochet Project I Almost Gave Up On

But I couldn’t recycle the yarn into a new project, so I HAD to make this one work.

After my eye surgery in early February, it was hard for me to do anything that required a lot of eye use, like writing and mosaic crochet (links to stories about these projects of mine are listed at the end of this one).

I did some writing, but the amount of time I spend on researching, drafting, writing, revising, editing, and proofreading a story was a little too much. I would end up with a headache and sore eye at the end of the day. As a result, I’ve only published two articles so far in March and two in February.

Granny Squares Are Back (Did They Ever Go Away? Probably Not)

I REALLY wanted to keep crocheting because it’s so relaxing. And I figured crocheting granny squares would be easy because I could do a few every day without overtaxing my eye.

The granny square idea came to me after seeing some fabulous ones designed by Christine Anne Melvin of WOMANWALKINGAWIRE whose page I found on Facebook. She also has an Etsy shop where you can check even more of her designs.
