A Smash Hopper Could be Gunning for You Now

It’s a remote controlled gun turret and it may be tracking you now…if you live on the West Bank

Israeli fortifications in the West Bank area are becoming rather faceless as the military has set up robotic turrets capable of firing stun grenades, less-than-lethal bullets, and tear gas at Palestinians protesting the Israeli presence.

The remote-controlled automatic guns were recently [October 2022] observed at the Al-Aroub refugee camp in the southern West Bank, and in the city of Hebron where locals speaking to the Associated Press told tales of weapons that fire without warning and cover the ground with a fog of tear gas.

The systems have been identified as ‘Smash Hoppers’.

What are these systems?

The range of guns is produced by Smart Shooter (no way am I affiliated with this bunch), a Yagur, Israel based company.

The Smart Shooter (a computerised target-tracking gun sight) has been around for a couple of years, but the Smash Hopper appears to be a new development — or deployment, at least.
