We’d left Lisbon and sailed straight to Ceuta, a Spanish enclave on the coast of Morocco, a trip involving 2 nights at sea, entering the Mediterranean through the Strait of Gibraltar. The Strait is guarded by the Pillars of Hercules — Jebel Musa in Morocco and the Rock of Gibraltar on the European side.
