If you are following the events of the Ukraine War and the madness of the current Russian regime, then you will be familiar with the name Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov is a Kremlin spokesman noted for the huge quantity and density of bilge that he utters. And an expensive haircut.

The BBC is reporting another of his diatribes (rants).

Peskov’s blood pressure rises

All because an obscure Polish committee has decided to rename Kaliningrad as Królewiec.

On Tuesday [9 May 2023], Poland’s Committee on Standardisation of Geographical Names Outside the Republic of Poland said it was recommending with immediate effect that the city be known in Poland as Królewiec and the exclave’s wider area as Obwód Królewiecki.

It said the name Kaliningrad was unrelated to either the city or the region and had an “emotional and negative” resonance in Poland. — BBC

According to Reuters:

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the decision “bordered on madness”.
