Ukraine’s Jet Powered Drones in Action Over Russia’s Belgorod

They are really cruise missiles, but are they the British Banshee 80S or Ukraine’s own copy?

Recently a jet powered drone was filmed over Russian territory in Belgorod where the Free Russia Legion and its allied insurrectionists are battling against Russian armed forces. One drone was captured by Russia according to posts on social media.

Drones or cruise missiles?

There has been debate about the proper name for this weapon type, and for me and many others they clearly fit into the category of cruise missiles.

They do not make a sound like a propeller-driven drone and they are not target drones (except for Russian AA defences that is).

They are guided, jet driven and lethal and meet almost every definition of what a cruise missile is.

UK supply

In May 2023, the UK reportedly supplied Ukraine with Banshees which had been modified as kamikaze drones. The remains of a Banshee were discovered…
