Celebrating Another Year of Success: Own The Doge 2022 Recap
Wow, what a year it’s been for Own The Doge! We’ve gone from a little group of doge lovers to a full-blown community of fierce and loyal Dogens. We’ve sent $DOG reps to some of the most epic IRL events, had regular community events, did awesome giveaways and we’ve even had some pretty cool pixel perks for all of our amazing Dogens. But the fun doesn’t stop there — we’ve also formed some seriously barkin’ partnerships and worked on some amazing projects in the bark tank. And through it all, we’ve managed to keep our spirits high and spread good vibes, even during a bear market.
We have achieved new highs this year and here are a few numbers you might like:
New members (Doge King, Gainor, Smoke, Optimistic Intern, Shubh, Mojo Jojo) have been added to the pack which has bought stability, growth and synchronisation helping us deliver more to the amazing Doge community.

Governance
This pod acts as our think tank and streamlines the flow of the core activities.
- DAOge established
A DAO is simply a tokenized community that governs itself. The Doge NFT was fractionalized into $DOG tokens. If you hold any $DOG tokens, you’re a part of The Doge DAO. The Doge DAO is in control of The Doge NFT. - Pleasr Treasury Split
The community fund (representing 23.80% of all DOG tokens) was completely split from pleasrDAO’s wallet and into the wallet that is completely managed/governed by our Doge DAO! Such decentralisation✨ - Multisigner elections
Multisigners are the group of individuals who control the funds present in the DAO treasury. This year's aim was to diversify this group of signatories to secure the treasury even better. 4 new members were added through community elections- Daogeshi, 0xluden, Shubh and Optimistic Intern! - Constitution in cooking
A single document to govern everything $DOG is in cooking to streamline and systematise our long-term and daily dealings even better.
Bark Tank
The Bark Tank is our web3 Shark Tank where awesome community projects receive mentoring and funding. It acts as a project incubator and has given birth to some whacky projects across that have expanded the Doge NFt ecosystem the internet (heard of FastFoodFrens, Pixel Portal or Dogtools.io?)
Our Bark Tank is governed by the Doge Improvement Council(DIC). The DIC membership is gated by a prestigious NFT, handcrafted by our talented in-house artist ColdPlunge. A new discourse mechanism was launched this quarter which streamlined our Bark Tank activities to a great extent. Take a peek-
- Pixel Portal went live in Jan
The Pixel Portal has been a big success in letting people visualize their ownership in the Doge meme. Users can lock their $DOG in exchange for a random pixel from the original Doge meme through it. The magical portal opens the gates to a lot of token-gated events, DOG special merchandise, cool NFT drops, allowlist access, giveaways and much more!

This incubated as a bark tank project to explore the ecosystem and metrics of your favorite projects, observe prices across multiple chains simultaneously in real-time, analyse multi-chain data and create technical analysis and track every aspect of the ecosystem that you care about. - Doge Academy acquired
The Doge Academy is a revolutionary community-driven NFT project focused on the creation and rewarding of knowledge in the Web3 ecosphere. - DogeBoarding Sandbox Game
Lords of Dogetown is a Doge skateboarding game with P2E mechanics built by @_MVStudios and released on @TheSandboxGame in its alpha Season 3. You played as a skateboarding Shiba, exploring the land, completing tasks and earning achievements. - Shiba and the Whale anime
The Shiba and the Whale“ is an animated short film co-produced by us. This is the world’s first fiction film to be based on an Internet meme and the world’s first fully fractionalised film, comprising 10,000 Collectible Frames that tell one unified story when strung together in a sequence. - Pixel Portal V2

A Doge Pixel is your first-class ticket to unlimited Doge entertainment and we consistently proved this! The initiative to launch at least 1 Pixel Perk every month for our dogens stays strong and on track. A lot of perks have been released in the past and this quarter, we have geared up on these even more!

We collab’d with @jimtheillustrator to design a one-of-a-kind artwork inspired by the original Doge Meme and partnered with @Shopify to launch our own merch store! Doge Pixel NFT holders got this first merch item FOR FREE! - Sandbox wearables
As part of our Lords of Dogetown project, we had 115 @TheSandboxGame wearable NFTs to give Pixel holders. 9 different wearables were up for grabs with mixed rarity and value🛹 - Doge Major fractions
We purchased and fractionalized the beautiful 1/1 Doge Major NFT created by the talented Anas Abdin, a Data Science Specialist, 1/1 NFT pixel artist and game developer. He is specialized in low-resolution and limited palettes. - Doge Academy PFP NFT
The Doge Academy art is deeply researched, hand-drawn, and is based primarily on real historical figures throughout history and from all over the world. This NFT also provides access to their first-semester course on “Making your own NFT project” - xSublimatio NFT
xSublimatio is a project co-created by PleasrDAO member @WarcMeinstein, which recreates a drug laboratory and market, in a generative art project form. An H2O molecule NFT was free to claim for all Pixel holders which is a depreciating element used in creating all drugs. - Hafid’s Dog Face Mask filter
A wild Doge filter was created by @hafid3d and shared with us during our Dog Park community chat! This awesome filter was airdropped to all Pixel Holders. - In Doge We Trust Music NFT
To commemorate 1 year of wholesomeness, fun, dogely values and philanthropy on the blockchain, we launched our very special birthday edition music video NFT titled “In Doge We Trust” which was created in collaboration with Bassjackers, pplpleasr, and cloudeatr.

The sandbox game is a video game with a gameplay element that provides players with a great degree of creativity to interact with by building a metaverse of gameplay experiences. We launched a skateboarding game with P2E mechanics in its Alpha Season 3 which was adored by all the players! - Degenscore

@sparepartsfreo is Australia’s flagship puppetry company and has been operating for over 40 years, entertaining hundreds of thousands of audience members, in Australia and abroad. We proudly funded their first NFT collection and helped them advent the web3 space. - Rainbow

For Kabosu’s (The Doge!) 17th Birthday, we crowdfunded AN EPIC BRONZE STATUE in a park in Kabosu’s hometown in Sakura, Japan. A total of around $100,000 was raised which exceeded our target of $42069. The more the donation the bigger the Dogeee.

Donations
We have committed to the dogely value of Doing Only Good Everyday and regularly reiterated the same through participating in donations and charities. The world is Doge’s home and we ought to make it a better place🌱
- Donated $250k to start rescue team
START Rescue coordinates large-scale rescue transport missions to save animals from overflowing and high-kill shelters, neglect, abuse, and abandonment. We donated $250K to @STARTRescueTeam via @givingblock and @angelprotocol in January to support their initiative. - 500k donation to angel protocol
We donated $500k to Angel's “locked for good” program. In this, teams allocate a portion of their token supply to Angel, to earn yield however their team would like to; Liquidity Provision, Governance Staking, or Lending. Angel facilitates their preferred strategy, & donates all the yield to charities! - Angel protocol yield donated to Ukraine DAO
The $DOG community voted to dedicate four weeks of yield (around $20k) from our @angelprotocol $500k donation fund to support the Ukrainian people. - DOG remains the largest donor to Savethechildren
Our first and biggest donation yet was $1 million to Save The Children. They offer humanitarian aid for children suffering due to the dire situation in Afghanistan. We have been the largest donor since our donation in September.
Community events
The doge belongs to the community and they have done a lot of whacky things to show their love for it. When in Dogetown, there is never a day of boredom. We often organise fun events every week for community members to hang out and win awesome prizes!
- Holy $DOG Meme Competition
We started off the year with our biggest-ever meme comp w/ $2000+ in prizes. Memes were judged on the basis of Dankness, Theme, Relevancy, Funny and Overall vibe✨
- Layer3 Bounties
During the year we launched 3 bounties with Layer 3, the biggest of them all being in March where a total of $6K was distributed in the prize pool. Later we held a Pixel minting bounty in Q3 and also collaborated with GCR to launch a thanksgiving themed bounty in December! - Inter-Community Poker Tournaments
All doge frens put their poker faces on when we bought the community our first-ever inter-community poker tournament. Lots of prizes were given away by us, Dank Bank, Fastfoodfrens, Odd monsters and moar! - 2 Weeks of Wow First Birthday Celebration
DOG turned 1 and we planned a lot of activities, so much as to keep you engaged and engulfed within the DOG ecosystem for 2 whole weeks and might we say potentially more because the WOW MUST NOT STOP✨
