What is $DOG?

Own The Doge is excited to announce the LARGEST $DOG AIRDROP EVER happening on Coinbase’s Base today! $DOG is the fractionalized Doge NFT. Now you can own a part of the most iconic meme of all time, photographed and minted by Atsuko Sato, and become a part of the network that has become a Cultural Centre of Memes. This campaign is the first of many supply shifts making DOG more community-focused. By redistributing the supply, we make the ecosystem more fair and allow many new internet citizens to Own The Doge.

This is a technical overview of how the airdrop amounts were structured.

Sections, criteria and distribution:

There are multiple sections to understand who’s received and how to earn $DOG. All specific addresses outlined in each section added below for brevity.

1. Base & Community Airdrop — 770,000,000 $DOG
2. Create Doge with AI, get $DOG — 108,484,848.45 $DOG
3. Base users post-airdrop — 60,000,000 $DOG
4. Events throughout the campaign — 60,000,000 $DOG

Section 1 — General & Community Airdrop:

Date: Feb 8th

Total: 770,000,000 $DOG (An address can qualify for and receive every part of Section 1. The snapshot was taken on 7th Feb 2024.)

Breakdown:

• 350,000,000 $DOG for Base communities. Split evenly among all addresses in this section, except veAERO and rainbow addresses which get a 2x multiplier. Addresses only count ONCE for this allocation.
• 320,000,000 $DOG across the broader Base ecosystem. This covers a very large section of Base users. We awarded people based on activity and not capital, so we do not have a bias towards larger traders. The criteria is anyone with more than 40 transactions. The amount is split evenly among every address, except the contract address holders listed in 1B, who get a 2x bonus.
• 100,000,000 $DOG for minters of the onchain summer NFTs, as well as additional base campaign-related addresses. Addresses count MULTIPLE times, once per collection they own.

Section 2 — Create Doge with TITLES, get $DOG:

Time: One Month. Starting February 8th, Ending March 8th.

Total: 108,484,848 $DOG

Creators on TITLES who create never-before-seen doge imagery with the world’s best doge AI model will receive a portion of the allotted amount with the opportunity to earn more listed below. Split evenly between all users, with the exception of the users who share their submissions — they receive a 2x multiplier. There are set amounts for those who mint the most, and competition winners. 15,000,000 DOG — equally split between everyone who uses superbridge or base bridge from 8th — 11th Feb.
