Own The Doge, the community that collectively owns the one and only Doge meme NFT through $DOG is back with its quarterly recap for 2023 Q1. We’ll be sharing all the exciting moments that have been happening in the DOG world over the past 3 months.

Community Activations and Partnerships
- Doge Pilgrimage- a dogely retreat with the Doge🇯🇵
We are organising a trip to the serene land of Japan to meet the one and only actual Doge- Kabosu, and her owner (and picture taker of the meme) Atsuko Sato. Only a few seats for this once in a lifetime opportunity remain. The dates for this 3.5 day trip is from May 3rd to May 7th. All you will require to make your dogely desire come true is a ticket for the pilgrimage which can be acquired after registering interest at meetthedoge.com for $4200.
This ticket would include your hotel, in-Japan transportation, meals and some fun activities as mentioned in our itinerary. Kabosu has been sick lately, and we want to make sure her biggest fans have the opportunity to meet her while her tail is still wagging, so hurry up and register now!
2. Pleasr House Doge Episode🥁
It’s been an incredible month for Own The Doge, as we teamed up with PleasrDAO to auction off the actual couch that the actual doge sat on in the actual meme in the second episode of Pleasr House!
And what a success it was! We managed to raise over $69,000 for charity to support @savethechildren’s emergency fund which was immediately put to use to help those impacted by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
We raised Dogecoin donations and sold the first-ever picture of Kabosu taken by Atsuko as an Open Edition (First Doge). Our resident Pixel whale, Doge5com, won the couch auction with a whopping bid of 21ETH. And to make it even better, we sold a total of 5054 First Doge NFTs, with Pixel holders getting to claim 3 NFTs for free. The total amount raised for @SavetheChildren over this span was truly amazing: $29,238 (18.9 ETH) from the Couch Sale, $38,442 (24.85 ETH) from the Open Edition, and $2,036 (25,141 Ð) from $DOGE donations.
Atsuko and Kabosu were interviewed live exclusively on the call. They were shown memes which were made by our community members to get lots of keks and wows. We also did an #Asktsuko segment where videos of community members and famous memes asking questions were shown to Atsuko! It was super fun to have her answer many of those,

3. Wanwan- our meme milestone
We just launched our long awaited meme competition platform to make the memes flow eternally. Our goal with this is to make meme2earn a reality and create a hub to connect meme lords directly to the internet communities.

4. We got on the Nouns Prop House baby!
Prop House is public infrastructure funded by Nouns DAO. It is an experimental approach for communities to fund whacky ideas. Through funding rounds, communities auction off fixed amounts of funds to builders with the best ideas.
We will give out 1M $DOG which will be equally divided amongst 5 people with the best ideas. Our ideas round is over and we have received a whopping 25 submissions. While we will individually reach out to every submitor to discuss more on their ideas, we highly encourage all Pixel holders to go and vote on their favourite submissions to help us find the best. The deadline to vote is April 6th.
5. Layer3 Pixel Minting Bounty
Own The Doge teamed up with @layer3xyz to launch an insanely cool bounty. A custom Doge x Layer3 NFT and Layer3 XP were up for grabs for minting a Pixel, holding it and claiming our January Pixel Perk, which was the fractionalised Nounlet. It’s like getting a dog treat AND a belly rub. Woof woof!
6. Dogeclaren at ETH Denver
We were one of the sponsors for sending The Dogeclaren to ETH Denver. Our amazing friends Julia Love and Gary Lachance did a great job distributing Doge Pilgrimage posters and DOG pilling hundreds of visitors out there. Many community members who went to ETH Denver also got a chance to meet Julia and see the gorgeous Dogeclaren!
3. Much Wow Twitter Spaces
- Kabosu Mama- Atsuko Sato
In January, we organized a very special Twitter Spaces with Atsuko Sato, aka @kabosumama, to give the Doge community an update on the health of the beloved Kabosu. More than 1900 people tuned in to listen and show their support for Kabosu’s road to recovery. The community was able to send their love and well wishes to Kabosu through the event, and it was truly heartwarming to see the outpouring of love and positivity for this iconic pup. We’re grateful to Atsuko for taking the time to join us and give
us an update on Kabosu’s health.

- Bad Luck Brian Meme
Memes love memes and we have time and again proven it. This time, we got Bad Luck Brian to get on twitter spaces with us and share wonderful behind the scenes on his life as a legendary meme. He will also be accompanying us to the Doge Pilgrimage and recreating the OG meme in the OG sweater is one of the many things we talked about.
- Oh My God meme
Another meme we interviewed this month was Kvng Ape, the person behind the Oh My God meme vine. A very humble man with an amazing story to tell.

- Woof Weekly Spaces with Save The Children
Ettore Rossetti from Save The Children joined us for a D.O.G.E woof weekly and discussed the prospects of our donation to their emergency fund supporting earthquake victims in Turkey. We are the largest crypto donor to save the children with a donation ovr $1M.
Pixel Perks
1. Our biggest giveaway yet?
We just gave away a ticket for the doge pilgrimage worth $4200 to a community member through a raffle conducted on Twitter. That’s not all! Not only are we inviting the winner to the Pilgrimage with us, we are also covering their flights upto $1500.
Having a Pixel of the Doge NFT surely have it’s perks and we have time and again proven it.
Surprisingly enough, the winner of this epic raffle restricted only to Pixel Holders was won by Mister Raffles! We have been in talks with them and they would be joining us on this epic adventure! Such wow✨
2. First Doge NFT
The first ever image of Kabosu taken by Atsuko was minted as an Open Edition during the second episode of Pleasr House. This OE had a mint price of 0.069ETH and Pixels Holders were given a free claim of upto 3 First Doge NFTs. 5054 NFTs were minted which helped us raise $38,442 (24.85 ETH) for charity to Save The Children. Another example of how Own The Doge established it’s provenance in the Doge world and simultaneously continuing to Do Only Good Everyday.
3. 3D Doge Couch NFT
The 3D Doge Couch Mint: Phase 1 is Live on @manifoldxyz

After elaborate discussions with the community and discord voting, we are officially changing our name from The Doge NFT to Own The Doge. Not only does this name better resonate with our community, it also aligns perfectly with the values, mission, goals and rally cries of the project.
We at Own The Doge have a vision to make Doge the Mona Lisa of the internet. Pleasr is the Lourve, Doge is the Mona Lisa.
Our mission is to propagate the legend of Doge, Kabosu, and Atsuko which will inspire an art revolution that places Doge and memes above the great pieces of previous centuries. We aspire to build a vibrant decentralized community guided by doing only good everyday.
In the process of achieving this, we aim to stick to our doge values of

2. Bark Tank
The Bark Tank is our web3 Shark Tank where awesome community projects receive mentoring and funding. It acts as a project incubator and has given birth to some whacky projects across that have expanded the Doge NFt ecosystem the internet (heard of FastFoodFrens, Pixel Portal or Dogtools.io?)
Our Bark Tank is governed by the Doge Improvement Council(DIC). The DIC membership is gated by a prestigious NFT, handcrafted by our talented in-house artist ColdPlunge. A new discourse mechanism was launched this quarter which streamlined our Bark Tank activities to a great extent. Check out some proposals that passed through the DIC this quarter-

This will make you a part of the Doge DAO where you can make your voice heard on ideas that shape the future of the project and subsequently, the meme-verse.
