Let us start with some History📖
The “Doge” you see all over the internet is named Kabuso. In 2010, Atsuko Sato (@kabusomama) posted some pictures of our internet sensation and in 2021, minted these highly popular images as 1/1 NFTs.
Our parent DAO @pleasrDAO bought the original Doge NFT with a winning bid of 1696 ETH making it the most expensive meme sale of all time. Memes belong to the people and so they fractionalised this legendary 1/1 $4.8M NFT into 16.9 Billion $DOG tokens.
Enter @ownthedoge. A doge-driven community aspiring to make people’s favourite Doge accessible to all, a symbol of philanthropy (Do Only Good Everyday), the future of memeconomy and the most recognised image in the entire world. To visualise the ownership in the Doge NFT, we created the Pixel Portal- your gateway to collective ownership of The Doge NFT.
DOG is backed. Backed by the million-dollar NFT itself. The total supply of DOG is 16,969,696,969 and the total supply of Pixels is 307,200. Dividing the total DOG by total Pixels, we arrive at the equation 55,240 DOG = 1 Pixel

Well, now why should I own a Pixel🟨
Apart from the fun and silliness of holding an actual pixel of the world’s most famous meme, we have pledged to secure a few things for our Pixel holders:

We collaborated with @PauzePierre to get all pixel holders a free H2O molecule mint from his amazing project- @faction_nft. One can merge this NFT with other substance NFTs to generate drugs online👀 Dogens have been cooking a lot since then…
3. Puppet NFTs
Lots of giveaways happened as we celebrated #DogPuppetDay. It was one of our Do Only Good Everyday initiatives where we partnered with @sparepartsfreo, Australia’s flagship puppet company to bring their beautiful puppets into the NFT world.
4. Doge Face Filter NFT🐶
Our fren @Hafid3D built an amazing face filter for the ownthedoge team. It was airdropped to all Pixel Holders in their polygon wallet and can easily be integrated with your webcam to make video calling a whole different experience!
5. Doge Academy’s PFP NFT🧑🏫
All pixel holders get a free mint from @TheDogeAcademy’s PFP project. With this NFT, one also gets a chance to choose one course this semester from the plethora of courses offered.
6. In Doge We Trust Music NFT🎶
As a borkday special drop, we released a music video NFT titled “In Doge We Trust” which was created in collaboration with Bassjackers, pplpleasr, and cloudeatr exclusively for Pixel holders. Pixel holders are eligible to claim it for the entire month of September at ownthedoge.com/radio.
These are some drops which were exclusive to Pixel holders. We have also done a ton of drops for $DOG holders which were open for Pixel holders as well. In the near future, we plan to do lots and lots of more such drops, collaborations, token gated IRL events, giveaways, etc. so stay tuned and mint them pixelzz now!

The provenance of the Doge Meme NFT and entry into the DAOge is facilitated through $DOG, acting as proof of ownership and a governance token.
Nearly one year ago, on a warm summer evening in Lisbon, @gainormather and @ColdPlunge brainstormed an idea they called the *Pupper* Pixel Portal — a tool to lock $DOG in exchange for pixels from the Doge NFT. The proposal was passed by The Bark Tank- our very own web3 Shark Tank.
Since then, the Pixel Portal has been a big success in letting people visualize their ownership in the Doge meme. Users can lock their $DOG in exchange for a random pixel from the original Doge meme through it. The magical portal opens the gates to a lot of token gated events, DOG special merchandise, cool NFT drops, allowlist access, giveaways and much more. But you know where the true magic occurs?
It is when you become a part of our amazing community focused on Doing Only Good Everyday, making Doge a symbol of fun, philanthropy, wholesomeness and entertainment.
It only made sense to upgrade one of our most successful Bark Tank babies to ensure a more immersive and better Pixel minting experience. A proposal was made to the Bark Tank council on which a snapshot vote was taken. The proposal was passed with 100% of the casted votes in favour of it!

We have integrated Cowswap right in the Pixel Portal so you need not worry about buying $DOG to obtain Pixels anymore, you can simply choose any ERC 20 of your choice from DOG, USDC, USDT, WETH, SHIB, WBTC and NFD to keep the Pixel printer running!

Use the Pixel Art Generator to create art using art. Let your creativity run wild to find new innovative ways to flex your pixels. Your pixels are the building blocks of other art pieces- Doge Pixel swords (Minecraft style), Doge Pixel banners, Doge Pixel punks, etc.
