Q2 2024 Recap: Remembering Kabosu the Doge
It’s been a quarter of sombre and sunny, we will miss you and always further your legacy Kabo-chan. Legends never die.
Own The Doge is the community that collectively owns the iconic Doge meme NFT through $DOG. We are on a mission to continue spreading the lore of the Doge, take her to places she has never been before and make the internet a wholesome place by furthering the dogely value of Doing Only Good Everyday.

We launched the first-ever Doge merch store officially endorsed by Atsuko Sato, the Doge mama. This was the first major step we took to establish ourselves as the Doge Brand of the internet. Not only is this store backed, it also contributes to the value of Doing Only God Everyday with part of the proceeds going to charity.
2. 420 Limited Mini Doge Figurine Drop, very bronze
4/20, often celebrated as the (unofficial) Doge Day witnessed the first-ever official drop from the Doge store. Limited edition mini bronze figurines of Kabosu, only 420 in existence were launched. They are an exact replica of the Bronze Statue we helped build for Kabosu in Sakura, Japan. Such provenance!
3. Exclusive Doge IP License
We were handed over the Doge torch by Atsuko and a groundbreaking Doge IP licensing agreement was signed. OTD was granted an exclusive license for the Doge image. This was a result of our strong relationship with Atsuko and our alignment on Doge being a force for spreading joy and doing good.

4. Community Building on Zealy
We held a Doge Dash competition on Zealy where doggos had to race to the top of leaderbork by completing dogely quests thus earning XP. Special prizes awaited them!
5. Discord Gaming Re-ignited
We held a gaming event on our Discord channel with the FeistyDoge community where we played a game called Kartrider, such fun!
6. $DOG celebrates Bitcoin Pizza Day
We sponsored the PizzaDAO global pizza party on May 22. Pizza is a common good and Doge loves pizzzzaaaaaa
7. Legends Never Die
On 5/24, we received the devastating news that the greatest internet legemd of all time, Kabosu aka The Doge, had crossed over the rainbow bridge with Atsuko by her side. We miss her dearly and she remains in our hearts forever. Legends never die, they pass on to different worlds to make them better.
8. Kabosu Memorial- Internet’s Sacred Doge Temple
We announced the Kabosu Memorial Page on ownthedoge.com where Doge fans from all around the world were encouraged to leave their most treasured memories, farewells and wishes for Kabosu and Atsuko.

9. Remembering Kabosu on X Spaces featuring @kabosumama
We held a special “Remembering Kabosu, The Doge” spaces on X for the community to come together to share what Doge means to them and how Kabosu impacted their lives. 10. DOG goes to Lisbon, Portugal
We helped to sponsor APAAC, an animal shelter in Portugal where a puppy named Quartz was adopted by the founders of Memecon. We were invited by their team in partnership with https://www.nonfungibleconference.com/ to speak about Own The Doge at the event this year.

We joined paws with Scout Productions, First Gen Studios, and Dukes Up to bring to the world the extraordinary journey of Kabosu, the Shiba Inu who became an internet sensation and the face of the iconic DOGE meme. Check out the teaser and official announcement below.
